The Research Services Coordinator, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment. The Research Services Coordinator will also provide support in grant scouting in identifying and promoting funding opportunities. Position is in-office located on the Stephenville main campus with work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in Research Development.
  • Assists with drafting of newsletters.
  • Scouts for funding opportunities.
  • Coordinates inventory process and maintenance of business files.
  • Acts as liaison between internal departments and external clients/vendors.
  • Organizing meetings, events, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Assists with planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring events.
  • Develops financial and statistical analyses and summary reports. Composes correspondence. Assists with administration of unit, program, or project.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers.
  • Support leadership of the Division of Research, Innovation & Economic Development (RIED) in developing and implementing strategic programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with formation of transdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and collaborative research teams.
  • Build awareness of funding opportunities and proposal development best practices.
  • Identify and distribute external sponsored funding opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years’ experience in office, program or project administration including some experience in research compliance or in contract, grant, or research administration.
  • Additional education may be considered as substitution for minimum experience requirement:
  • Master’s degree in applicable field and one (1) year of experience in developing proposals, including grant writing, to various funding agencies.
  • Experience in supporting academic or research programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of research culture and academic research funding

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in multidisciplinary research
  • Experience organizing research training workshops or mentorship programs
  • Experience with funding prospect platforms such as Pivot, GrantForward, Grants.gov, or comparable tools
  • Experience with program assessment, data analysis, and reporting
  • Experience supporting academic or research programs

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Salary Range: The target base annual salary range is $44,000.00 up to $55,550.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
