Research Specialist A (Department of Dermatology)
The incumbent is primarily responsible for conducting experiments under the supervision of the PI and senior research staff to meet research project objectives. Manages experimental animals and other resources to ensure timely completion of project deliverables. Assists with general laboratory operations and participates in group research activities as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide experimental research support (histology, molecular biology, microscopy and data analysis as needed)
- Maintain mouse colony (general housekeeping, breeding, genotyping, record keeping, animal protocol compliance)
- Oversee lab resources (prepare reagents, order supplies, maintain equipment, perform lab inventory, archive protocols and reagent information for later use)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to perform within a team setting.
- Prior experience with microscopy and/or experimental animal models, including mice, is preferred but not required.
- Strong technology skills are a plus.
