Research Support Specialist
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field. Experience working with children and parents. Research Experience (as a student or professional).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in community settings. Experience collecting physiological data. Bilingual English/Spanish-speaking.
Brief Description of Duties:
This position will involve coordinating a research study examining the effectiveness of programs designed to support sensitive parenting and healthy early child development. This study involves a partnership between the Developmental Stress and Prevention Lab at Stony Brook University and a community-based organization, Power of Two. The position will be based in New York City, with data collection occurring primarily in Brooklyn and the Bronx. The role will require conducting home and lab visits with participating families, tracking participants and managing data, and interfacing with graduate- and undergraduate-level research assistants. Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates preferred. The position requires a commitment through the end of December, 2026. There may be opportunities to extend this timeline, pending availability of funding.
