Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as calibration of instrumentation, equipment maintenance and repair, preparation of samples for testing, monitoring of safety equipment and procedures, development and fabrication of prototype equipment, recording of test results, and basic analyses of data.
Ensures experiments are performed according to specification.
May make practical technical recommendations to changes in procedures, equipment, or prototype design.
May perform simple and repetitive task.
May assist in advanced functions as part of training.

Key responsibilities include conducting research, designing and executing research projects and experiments. The candidate will also collect data, organize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistical methods and will assist in writing research reports and manuscripts for publication. The candidate needs to be able to work independently or as part of a team and be able to help plan and organize research projects including setting milestones and tracking timelines. The required qualifications include a master’s degree in Environmental Analysis or a relevant related field in engineering with a background in math and physics or engineering. Proficiency in research methods and data analysis, machine learning and strong fundamentals in math and physics of environmental processes is a must as is the requirement for strong soft skills that include advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, programming in R and Python, and a demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written communications and work collaboratively or independently. MQ: High School Diploma with 1 year of experience.
