The Priess lab is hiring a Research Technician I or II. The project is studying mechanisms of age-dependent tissue deterioration using the model C. elegans.

Responsibilities

  • The work primarily involves the generation and analysis of transgenic C. elegans through CRISPR gene editing
  • Culture/media preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Research Technician I:

  • Bachelor's degree in related scientific field
  • Demonstrated scientific knowledge and laboratory skills in the area of study

Research Technician II:

  • Bachelor's degree in related scientific field
  • 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Research Technician I:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology with at least one year postgraduate research experience, or undergraduate senior thesis.
  • Demonstrated expertise with plasmid construction/cloning and standard molecular techniques outside of school coursework

Research Technician II:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology
  • Demonstrated expertise with plasmid construction/cloning and standard molecular techniques outside of school coursework

Research Tech I: The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.87 to $32.56 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Research Tech II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $26.48 to $37.70 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security. Benefits include medical/vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, retirement, family life support, employee assistance program, onsite health clinic, income-based child care subsidy, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation (22 days per year), paid sick leave (up to 30 calendar days per occurrence of a qualifying reason), paid holidays (13 days per year), and paid parental leave (up to 4 weeks).
