Position Highlights
The School of Natural Resources & the Environment is looking for a Research Technician II to join Dr. William K. Smith's research group. The Research Technician II will support and assist in the maintenance of and data collection efforts at the Rainfall Manipulation Experiment in the Santa Rita Experimental Range (RainManSR). Tasks will include assisting with tent gas-exchange data collection campaigns, repeat image data collection activities, downloading plot-level image data from the site on a weekly basis, instrument maintenance, image processing, and data analysis tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Travel to the RainMan field site to help assist with routine data collection campaigns. In particular, the hire will help assist in leading the collection of plot-level gas exchange data and high resolution RGB images on a weekly basis.
- Traveling to the RainMan field site to help assist with site maintenance and a regular basis. This will include assisting in calibrating instruments, installing and repairing site infrastructure, as well as trouble shooting any issues that might arise over the course of the field season.
- The hire will help assist with data transfer to our campus servers and data processing. In particular, they will be responsible for transferring our plot image data to the servers on a monthly basis under the guidance their PI and team.
- The hire will join bi-weekly team meetings and will occasionally be asked to give updates on the tasks they are performing.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or High School Diploma equivalency is required.
- Three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or a history of relevant field research.
- Prior experience working as part of a research team at a research field site such as the Rainfall Manipulation Facility in the Santa Rita Experimental Range.
