About the role
The Clinical Language and Cognition (CLC) group at Imperial College London, led by Dr Fatemeh Geranmayeh, is seeking an enthusiastic research technician to assist with the IC3 Clinical study, as part of the larger IC3 study (https://www.ic3study.co.uk/) investigating the longitudinal trajectory recovery of language and cognition after stroke.
What you would be doing
You will be responsible for recruitment, consenting, and assessing patients with stroke. Assessments includes limited pen-and-paper tests; digital cognitive testing, arranging and assisting with MRI brain imaging; minimal blood sample processing for long term storage.
What we are looking for
We are looking for candidate with excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with patients, their families, the research and clinical teams. In addition to patient recruitment and assessment, the post requires project management roles, keeping accurate record of the study data, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Applicants should have a background in neuropsychological assessments particularly in patients.
- MSc in psychology, neuroscience, therapy, rehabilitation or related fields.
- Knowledge and/or experience of cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychological testing
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice for conducting research
- Dealing with patient groups e.g. patients with stroke.
- Knowledge/experience of clinical trials
