Research Trials Coordinator
About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Research Trials Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of the Tackle Concussion Research study at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to research that is shaping the future of concussion diagnosis, treatment and return-to-play decision-making.
The Tackle Concussion Trial is now entering its next phase, building on findings from earlier studies. This phase brings together an exceptional network of partners, including:
- World Rugby
- Rugby Australia
- Qscan
- Trajan
- Sonic Health
- South-East Queensland high schools

In this role, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, prepare, coordinate, and maintain all regulatory and ethics submissions across multiple institutions, ensuring compliance with national ethics regulations and research governance requirements.
- Promote and implement participant recruitment and engagement activities while maintaining accurate records for regulatory paperwork, consent forms, and insurance documentation.
- Set up and monitor study databases, ethics approvals, and staff coordination for data collection under the direction of the Chief Investigator.
- Coordinate with radiology providers and manage biological sample collection, ensuring quality control, correct processing, secure transfer, and storage of data and samples.
- Schedule and coordinate project assessments, participant bookings, travel, appointments, and reimbursements.
About You
- Completion of an undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training
- Demonstrated experience in research coordination, project management and/or clinical research environments
- Well-developed understanding of research ethics, governance requirements and regulatory processes
- Experience developing research practices, protocols and standard operating procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, exercise initiative and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams with competing timelines
- High standards of record keeping and attention to detail, particularly within ethical and regulatory frameworks
Position Details
- Part-time (3 days/pw), fixed-term position until 31 December 2026
- Base salary will be in the range $93k - $100k + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)
- Based at our St Lucia Campus
