At James Cook University (JCU), we are committed to advancing research that creates a Join James Cook University (JCU) and help improve health outcomes in the Tropics. We’re looking for a Research Worker to support the Health and Research in the Tropics (HART) team in delivering impactful, community-focused research.
In this role, you’ll:
- Facilitate community engagement activities such as yarning circles and co-design workshops.
- Support researchers with project administration, proposals, reports, and publications.
- Work closely with Indigenous communities to ensure research is ethical and culturally respectful.
- Contribute to meaningful outcomes that advance Indigenous health and wellbeing.
About you:
You’ll bring qualifications or experience in a relevant field (Health, Public Health, Indigenous Studies, Rural Health, etc.), a commitment to Indigenous health equity, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience in research administration is highly regarded.
Special Requirements:
- This position is identified – being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
- May be Required to work across the Torres Strait Islands
