Employees of UNCA are provided with a comprehensive benefits package as well as other resources, policies and programs to ensure a happy and healthy work/life balance. Benefit eligible employees have access to dental, vision and health insurance plans – eligibility begins on the first of the month following date of hire. Retirement plan contributions begin on the eligibility date following election and include employer contributions for either a defined contribution or a defined benefit plan. Eligible employees have access to tuition waivers for up to three courses per academic year; employees may enroll at any of the constituent UNC System campuses. Also offered are group exercise classes, and free access to the campus recreation center for full time employees, vaccine shots are also offered on campus, pretax flexible spending accounts, 12 paid holidays and 24 hours of paid community service leave each year. Leave earning employees (staff and 12-month faculty) who work at least half of the working days of their first month of employment will begin accruing vacation and sick leave immediately. Position Summary :

The Residence Life Coordinator position is a 12-month live-in position with the Office of Housing & Residence Life. The primary responsibility of the Residence Life Coordinator position is supervising the living and learning experience of students who live on campus in a residence hall area. Residence Life Coordinators oversee the day-to-day residential operations of their specific residence hall area as well as provide guidance and support for the Resident Assistant team of that area.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skill :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution; ability to serve on a rotating on-call basis including nights, weekends and holidays

Preferred Education/Experience/Skill :

One (1) or more years of experience in Housing and/or Residence Life or Student Affairs; working knowledge of student development theory and the ability to incorporate this into your practice; previous live-in staff experience; experience serving on a rotating on-call basis supporting residential students; experience supervising student staff; experience in coordinating student staff training and development.

Responsible for the direct supervision of one Resident Assistant team
