Job Summary
The Upward Bound Summer Project employs two (2) college students as Residential Night Advisors to supervise, advise, and tutor approximately (70) seventy students from Belmont, Franklin, Lincoln, Sotomayor, and Wilson High Schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Job Duties
- 40% - Administrative: Be informed and able to instruct students regarding emergency procedures; assist in and implement crisis management procedures and reports.
- 30% - Supervision: Provide daily residential supervision for student participants throughout the tenure of the program.
- 30% - Student Support/Advisement: Develop and implement program activities to promote a sense of community within and outside of the residence hall.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an AA or bachelor’s degree program.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of first-generation and/or low-income students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with TRIO and Educational Equity Programs.
- One year of experience working with low-income, first-generation, underrepresented students.
