Resource Delivery Specialist
Reporting to the Head, Resource Delivery Services, this Library Technician 3 serves as an area specialist for RDS-related technology and operations. They use their advanced proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of resource sharing to process routine and non-routine requests, administer training, gather and synthesize data, compile reports, troubleshoot and report problems, and complete various other specialized and administrative tasks that require a high level of non-routine decision making, good judgment, expertise, and independence. This LT3 also serves as the primary supervisor for 2.0 FTE, or more, part time, unionized student assistants in RDS, and is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating them. The individual in this position works with patrons, colleagues, and partner libraries via email, telephone, video conferencing, and face-to-face, and assists departmental management in the training and oversight of Library Technician 1s and 2s.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree plus two years of current (within 5 years) experience in a Library; OR, 4 years of current library experience; AND, advanced proficiency in multiple library specific computer applications, e.g., integrated library systems, database applications, institutional repository; content management systems. Some positions may also require in-depth knowledge of specialty area(s), e.g., original cataloging, complex copy cataloging, serials management, ILL management, government documents, image resources, music.

Ability to present technical information to others in a clear and professional manner. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in a variety of settings. Strong aptitude for following through on commitments and deadlines. Ability to provide a high volume of high-quality work in a timely manner. Propensity for troubleshooting, escalating, and resolving technical problems. Ability to provide professional and user-focused customer service. Ability to improve operations and workflows.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience using the Alma Resource Sharing service. Experience supervising, overseeing, or leading the work of colleagues or volunteers. Experience successfully managing a team.
