General Position Description
This position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the campus store, including, but not limited to, opening and/or closing the campus store daily; operating a cash register accurately and effectively; creating and maintaining accurate reports, records, and files; maintaining a clean and orderly campus store and warehouse, and working a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and/or weekends as required.

Monday to Friday shifts with hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., based on operational needs.
Note: Occasional weekend and evening availability is also necessary for college events.

Salary Range: $16.25 per hour
Description of Job Function
- Operates POS registers and processes payment, returns, and exchanges in accordance with standard operating procedures. Balances the cash drawer and performs cashier audits.
- Processes passport applications in accordance with government guidelines. Completes required training to remain informed about product features, promotions, passport application procedures, and notary public regulations. Completes notary certifications, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
- Performs customer service activities such as retrieving and activating student financial aid information and assisting customers in the purchase of books, computer software and hardware, calculators and/or supplies.
- Greet and assists customers with product and service inquiries while maintaining a professional appearance and a positive, helpful demeanor.
- Maintains cashier integrity by observing safe money-handling procedures and secure transaction practices when accepting cash payments, making change, accepting checks and credit card payments, and processing refunds.
- Conducts regular inventory counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy and maintain appropriate stock levels. Monitors and coordinates online orders and fulfillment by: a. processing online orders; b. pulling merchandise; c. preparing orders for pick-up or shipment; d. communicating order status to customers.
- Adheres to all loss prevention and security procedures to protect store assets.
- Participates in special events, promotions and marketing initiatives (e.g., off-site events, graduation). Recommends products based on customer needs. Promotes and cross-sells products and services to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintains a clean and organized sales floor by restocking shelves and merchandise displays and actively participating in cleaning tasks. Ensures a visually appealing product presentation.
- Completes all assigned training. Assists in training new associates and serves as subject matter expert.
- Loads and unloads smart lockers in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Resolves general customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively in a professional and courteous manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Drivers License Requirement
REQUIRED: Must possess valid Florida Driver's License. Employee will be required to operate a college vehicle, including but not limited to on and between campuses and in the local community, in order to perform the essential job functions.
Required Minimum Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Other Required Qualifications
Experience in handling money and processing sales transactions and/or experience in retail or customer service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to accurately and efficiently process cash and credit card sales transactions.
- Knowledge of money-handling procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to follow college policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Skill in cash register operation, basic computer applications, and basic accounting procedures.
General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
