Sarcoma RCRF Research Associate
Position Summary
The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.
This Research Assistant (RA) is a full-time position dedicated to supporting sarcoma registry enrollment, tissue procurement research, and emerging clinical trial efforts. The RA will serve as the primary point of contact for patient identification, approach, screening, and informed consent for tissue banking, registry and specimen-based sarcoma research protocols, as well as new early-phase clinical trials.
This role requires close collaboration with surgical oncology, pathology, and research teams to facilitate consent and procurement process. The RA will additionally support several research efforts for the non-profit organization, Rare Cancer Research Foundation. These efforts will involve support biobanking and PRISM efforts – novel, individualized cancer testing for rare cancers.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
