Description: The Fellowship in Academic Pharmacy at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP) is a 12-month postgraduate training opportunity for practicing pharmacists to obtain advanced practice, teaching and research experience with a member institution of the Texas Medical Center (TMC), the world's largest medical center with more than 50 health-system, academic and non-profit healthcare related institutions. The purpose of the program is to prepare pharmacists for a career in pharmacy education through training in teaching, curriculum development, college service, mentoring, scholarship, and clinical practice. Highlights of the training program include participating on multiple college-wide committees, extensive teaching experience, and flexible clinical practice opportunities. At the end of the training program, the academic fellow will be well prepared for a career in academia.
