Job Summary

The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) welcomes applications for a Scholarship Coordinator! This position manages the Colorado Department of Higher Education's (CDHE) Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) Achieve and affiliate scholarship programs. Responsibilities include administering all aspects of the COSI Achieve program on the CU Boulder campus, from scholarship selection to program design, implementation, and annual reporting. Additionally, this role serves as a liaison to various community-based organizations and affiliate scholarship programs.This role plays an important part in enhancing the student experience by supporting recruitment, enrollment, retention, advising, engagement, event planning, enrichment activities, and outreach. The position reports to the Director of Undergraduate Academic and Community Enrichment in the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). Who We Are

The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) oversees the academic undergraduate experience at CU Boulder, provides extraordinary educational experiences, serves exploring students and collaborates with a variety of units to ensure that students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Student Success Initiatives and Support

  • Provide direct wraparound student support, focusing on providing students with the support and tools to overcome institutional, social, wellness, and academic barriers that may impede their progress toward completion.
  • Partner with the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) and Transfer Success Initiatives to align efforts. Provide direct support to COSI scholars through appointments, workshops, events, and maintain ongoing communication.
  • Conduct workshops, events and community engagement activities for scholars.
  • Manage COSI scholar caseload and provide individual scholar support.
  • Develop and maintain transparent and equitable scholarship processes.
  • Support remaining cohorts of COSI Matching Student Scholarship (MSS) recipients.
  • Support individual donor/foundation scholarship recipients.

Community Building and Interdepartmental Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison to campus departments, such as but not limited to, the Offices of Financial Aid, Scholarships, Admissions, Advancement, and with donors, external funding organizations, and like institutions to advance academic success campus-wide.
  • Maintain consistent communications with faculty and staff about student needs, opportunities, scholarships, events, etc.
  • Represent CU Boulder at COSI and other student events throughout the year and serve as a point of contact.
  • Collaborate with and support other programs within the Undergraduate Academic and Community Enrichment unit, including the Denver Scholarship Foundation and the CU LEAD Alliance.

Scholarship Management

  • Administration of CU Lead, COSI and affiliate scholarships in Blackbaud Award Management system which includes developing annual spend plans, communicating plans to partners, renewals and communicating scholarship requirements to scholars.
  • Steward donors and grant scholarship/programming funds in a highly detailed, and often personalized manner.
  • Scholarship liaison for all affiliate community partners and internal donor/foundation scholarships.
  • Connect with community partners to establish clear processes and MOUs.
  • Ensure agreements with donors and foundations are fulfilled and recipients are actively engaged.
  • Manage individual donor scholarships.
  • Coordinate appeals and troubleshoot scholarships issues. Act as a liaison to the Office of Scholarship Services.
  • Work closely with the Office of Financial Aid to stay current on policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate various scholarship activities including recipient, selection, award forms, award letters, and year-end reports.

Grant Administration and Reporting

  • Work closely with OUE Data Raconteur and the Director of Undergraduate Academic and Community Enrichment to align data assessment practices and maintain grant compliance requirements and reporting.
  • Manage award budgets and expenditures working in collaboration with the OUE finance team.
  • Manage remaining COSI Matching Student Scholarship grants and final reports.
  • Assist with applying for additional COSI grant opportunities.

What You Should Know

  • This position offers a hybrid work modality with 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work per week.
  • This position may occasionally require work during evenings or weekends to support events and programming.

The hiring range for this position is $62,400-$67,636.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, business, education, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
  • 3 years of related student services experience.
  • Experience working with scholarships, grants and reporting.

  • Strong dedication to student success, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
  • Proven relationship-building skills to support building relationships with internal campus partners and external community-based organizations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and collaborators.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate program requirements clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive student and program information.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to support events or programming outside regular business hours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Master's degree.
  • Five years of experience in student services and/or organizational development.
  • Experience working with CDHE and other COSI programs.
  • Experience with financial aid and admissions processes.
  • Knowledge of college trends in student leadership and programming.
  • Knowledge and understanding of P-16 educational pathways.
  • Experience working with traditionally underserved/underrepresented and first-generation students.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Award Management and Canvas course creation, or similar systems experience.
