"Scientific Research Assistant - Temporary/Part Time (5710)"

This person will work with our Clinical Trials Department working on several projects.

This position is ON SITE only. Be present in the Office as specified by mentor throughout the summer

• Establish specific learning goals and objectives with the faculty member
• Under direction and assistance of mentor and laboratory staff, the candidate will perform data collection and office duties as requested as well as prepare necessary data for reports for laboratory meetings
• Actively review the scientific literature as related to the project
• Fully participate in the daily activities of the office and contribute to conceptual aspects of their project as appropriate for level of training.
• Complete all safety, compliance and regulatory training in accordance with SIU SOM policies
• Prepare a presentation of the project

1) Must be currently enrolled as a college student. If appointment is to be made during the summer months, individual must show transcript or grade slip verification that s/he was enrolled during the spring semester immediately prior to the appointment (a student ID card is not sufficient.); AND

2) Must have successfully completed no less than 30 semester hours of college coursework, with at least one course in the field of science or biology with related laboratory training; AND

3) Must be 18 years of age or older.
