"Seabed Habitat Mapping Project Leader - Senior Scientific Officer"

Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) is seeking a Seabed Habitat Mapping Project Leader - Senior Scientific Officer.

Location: Belfast.

Salary: £43,584 to £46,712 (£47,304 - £49,515 with effect from 1 August 2025).

Hours: Full Time.

Contract Type: Permanent, Fixed-Term/Contract.

Further details: The position is based at AFBI Headquarters, Newforge Lane, Belfast, BT9 5PX. The successful candidate may be required to work at other AFBI sites as needed and to work at sea in inclement conditions within a team of scientists for up to 50 days per year on trips of up to two weeks duration on research and chartered vessels engaged in scientific studies.
