Seasonal Employee Hourly
The Postbaccalaureate Research Assistant will participate in ongoing research projects focused on fundamental mechanisms in cell biology, related to cell adhesion and invasion in normal and cancer cells. The individual will perform experimental work using cultured mammalian cells and contribute to the generation, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative biological data. This position provides intensive hands-on training in modern cell and molecular biology techniques within a collaborative research environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. equivalent from an accredited institution
- Experience in lab techniques, including tissue culture of mammalian cells, DNA transfection, immunofluorescence staining, microscopy, specifical confocal and TIRF, ImageJ image analysis, GraphPad, electrophoresis and western blotting, and molecular biology techniques, such as DNA purification, cloning, PCR, lentivirus production, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication required
- Critical thinking for designing and interpreting experiments
- Must be detail oriented and have ability to keep organized and accurate records
