Assist in monitoring, and coordinating training and practice
sessions.
Ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards
are maintained.
Provides day-to-day guidance, assistance, and support to other
assistant coaches on coaching training sessions and techniques of
individual players.
Aids in the coordination and administration of the overall
program, as required.
Represents the Emerson College and the athletic department to
various institutional programs and externally to the media,
students, parents, and the general public.
Assist with coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop
players technical ability and team tactical solutions.
Analyze the performance of our team, individual players and our
opponents.
Provide leadership and instruction to improve the team and the
individual player.
Mentor student-athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional
and social growth
Monitor the progress of prospective players during the
application process.
Assist in coordinating and organizing potential player
on-campus visits.
Assists with some aspects of the recruitment and retention of a
diverse set prospective student athletes.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Occasionally drive student's to and from campus for
practice.
QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or
preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform
job.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 0 - 2 years of coaching experience at the post-secondary level
and/or professional competitive experience required.
- A valid driver's license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - May be representative,
but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities
commonly associated with the job.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical skills and tactical
strategy and the ability to effectively teach them and communicate
with players.
- Working knowledge of NCAA and NEWMAC rules and an understanding
of the philosophy behind them.
- The coach must be self-directed, motivated and able to work
independently and under pressure.
- Commitment to being a positive member of the Athletics
Department, the College community and the ability to influence the
athletes to do the same.
