Job Description
The Security Engineer analyzes threat information from multiple sources, disciplines, and agencies across the intelligence community; synthesizes and places intelligence information in context; draws insights about the possible implications; identifies and executes counter measures; and performs related work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, maintain, and monitor information using enterprise information security tools
- Respond to information security requests and problems, explaining ISU policies and procedures
- Review and approve submitted firewall rule changes as well as maintain current ruleset
- Maintain enterprise endpoint protection and encryption management platform
- Implement and enable information security plan
- Participate in security awareness campaign
- Perform forensics and investigations
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a cybersecurity or computer-related field (or two years of specialized security training) PLUS three years of cybersecurity and/or network related work experience working in a complex network infrastructure OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, Cyber Security or relevant field OR
- Six years, practical, hands on experience in a position directly associated with Cyber Security
- Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Highly technical computer application skills
- Development, configuration and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions and computer hardware, network systems, and complex software skills
- Experience with next-generation firewalls, SIEMs, IPS/IDS, and vulnerability assessment tools
- Relevant experience working in Higher Education
Additional Information

Salary will be between $68,000 - $75,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
