The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) is an interdisciplinary and innovative learning hub that encompasses a wide range of areas, including film and television, animation, museums and curating, art history, as well as digital arts and immersive media. We offer broad theoretical study and practical training for students seeking careers in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area's burgeoning creative and cultural industries. DACI currently offers three Undergraduate programmes, BA (Hons) Aminations and Digital Arts, BA (Hons) in Creative Media Industries and BA (Hons) in Film and Visual Arts, and two taught master programmes, MA in Creative and Media Industries (MACMI) and MA in Curating and Art History (MACAH). DACI invites applications for the position of Senior Administrative Officer. The appointee will assist the Department Head and the MA Programme Director in general administration, including curriculum management, budget planning, admissions, publicity, and related activities. The role will also provide research support to academic staff, such as assisting with research grant applications, coordinating research projects, and managing research documentation and compliance requirements.
The appointee will be required to:
- a) Manage multiple academic programmes, events, and research projects
- b) Oversee admissions processes and provide comprehensive student support
- c) Coordinate equipment inventory, check-in/out, and room bookings
- d) Provide technical support and maintenance for classes, facilities, and departmental events
- e) Assist with research activities, including grant applications, project coordination, and compliance
- f) Ensure effective communication among faculty, students, and partners
- g) Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- (i) Postgraduate degree or above, preferably in visual art, media and communication, creative industries, management, or a related field
- (ii) At least 5 years of relevant administrative experience in academic or research environment
- (iii) Strong organisational, time-management and multitasking skills
- (iv) Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Chinese preferred)
- (v) Experience in programme administration, budget management and event coordination
- (vi) Familiarity with research support, grant applications and compliance
- (vii) Ability to work independently and collaboratively with initiative
- (viii) Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with faculty, students and stakeholder
- (ix) Good proficiency in IT skills will be an advantage
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at the relevant rank.
Salary and Benefits
Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
