Why Your Role Matters

The Senior Admissions Systems Specialist is a newly created, permanent role established to support the transition to a new admissions system and strengthen Admissions’ long-term ownership of systems and data capability.

As the business owner for Admissions systems, you will ensure the effective operation, configuration, and continuous improvement of admissions and onboarding systems, supporting compliant, timely, and high-quality admissions decision-making and applicant experience.

Working at the intersection of systems, data, and operations, you will define and manage the admissions-side operating model—covering business rules, service standards, process design, and data quality—while driving ongoing system optimisation and performance.

This role acts as the Admissions Product Owner, representing business priorities and outcomes within Student Systems & Projects governance and delivery. It is a key role during a period of transformation, requiring strong systems expertise, data capability, and a solid understanding of admissions processes.

The position reports to the Admissions Support Manager and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities summary

  • Lead the definition and prioritisation of Admissions business requirements, translating needs into system configurations, enhancements, and roadmap planning
  • Represent Admissions in system governance, vendor engagements, and institutional forums, ensuring business priorities, risks, and compliance obligations are addressed
  • Act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams, advising on solution design, driving optimisation, and ensuring delivery aligns with admissions needs
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide business sign-off for system changes, ensuring readiness for operational and peak periods
  • Establish and maintain governance artefacts, documentation, and records to support consistent practice, audit, compliance, and data integrity
  • Develop and deliver performance reporting and insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement

About You

We’re looking for a systems-focused professional with strong analytical capability and a solid understanding of admissions processes in higher education. You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working with admissions or student systems (e.g. StudyLink, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms)
  • Strong understanding of admissions processes and application lifecycle management
  • Experience in system configuration, testing (including UAT), and documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into system and process improvements
  • Experience using data and reporting tools (particularly Power BI and Excel) to generate insights and support decision-making
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, influencing outcomes in a complex environment
  • Experience working within governance, risk, and compliance frameworks (e.g. privacy, audit, data integrity)
  • High attention to detail, particularly in relation to system configuration and data quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment

This is a hybrid role working Monday to Friday. The position is full time permanent. You may occasionally be required to participate in testing or system development activities outside of standard business hours.

Candidates will need to have valid working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship.

Recruitment process: Please submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the “About You” section of the job ad and telling us why you are interested in this role.
