Your next career opportunity
You will provide specialist, trauma-informed support to students and staff impacted by gender-based violence. You will guide colleagues and influence safer practices across the University’s Safer Community Program. You will deepen your expertise applying national codes and risk frameworks in a complex, values-driven setting.
What you will deliver:
- Provide trauma-informed responses to disclosures and reports of gender-based violence from students and staff.
- Connect impacted community members with specialist services and complaint processes within and external to the University.
- Assess risk, escalate urgent or complex matters, and contribute to coordinated safety planning across the University.
- Deliver capacity-building workshops and secondary consultations to strengthen colleagues’ confidence responding to gender-based violence.
- Maintain high-quality, confidential case records and support continuous improvement of Safer Community Program practices.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrate advanced, trauma-informed practice with victim survivors and understanding of support models for perpetrators.
- Bring strong knowledge of gender-based violence risk assessment, safety planning and relevant police and court processes.
- Understand the National Higher Education Code and university reporting and complaint processes, or quickly learn this context.
- Excel at building constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders in large, complex organisations.
- Produce clear, sensitive written documentation, including detailed case notes and accurate information management records.

You will join Student and Scholarly Services within the Chief Operating Officer Portfolio, a collaborative team that supports students from first enquiry to graduation. The Safer Community Program leads University-wide responses to concerning, threatening and harmful behaviours, partnering closely with faculties and central divisions. You will work with committed professionals who value evidence-informed practice, prevention and early intervention, and who are focused on building a safer, more respectful environment for every member of the University community.
