Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Service Experience Officer to join Student Administration, People Services, Administrative Division.

The Service Experience Officer plays a key role in delivering responsive, accurate and high-quality administrative support to QUT students, staff and stakeholders. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the position triages, assesses and processes a broad range of Student Administration requests, provides clear and personalised advice across multiple communication channels, and ensures accurate data entry across university systems. We are seeking a collaborative and solutions-focused professional with strong digital literacy, communication and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures. The successful applicant will contribute to an inclusive, student-centred service culture and support continuous improvement across the team. This is an ongoing, full-time position based at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus, with opportunities for flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

QUT’s Student Administration department, within the People Services Portfolio, delivers essential services across the student lifecycle, including admissions, enrolment, fees and billing, timetabling, examinations, academic records, progression and graduation. Working collaboratively with specialist teams across the University, the department supports domestic, international and research students and contributes to an inclusive, responsive and high-quality student experience..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma with at least two (2) years subsequent relevant work experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to acquire, interpret, apply and provide advice and guidance on legislation, policy, procedures and student administration operations.
  3. Proven ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team with the ability to use initiative and plan, organise and prioritise workloads in order to meet tight and conflicting deadlines.
  4. Demonstrated digital literacy including the ability to use a large corporate computer system to input, access, extract and interpret data, as well as experience in using spreadsheets and other software applications.
  5. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture that is committed to high quality client-focused service in a demanding and high paced environment and continuous improvement.
  6. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent service to a large and diverse client and stakeholder group across organisational boundaries with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, including well developed written and interpersonal skills.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
