Position Summary:
The Budget and Business Operations team provides essential budget, financial, and service functions. The Senior Business Operations and Travel Specialist provides comprehensive financial and operational support, specializing in travel coordination, procurement, and expense management. Partners with Board Engagement Events Coordinator for Regents' travel and serves as SME for procurement, travel, and expense policies, liaising with CU's Procurement Service Center (PSC).
Reports to Assistant Director of Finance and Business Operations. Exempt from State of Colorado Classified Staff System.
Where You Will Work: 1800 Grant St, Denver, CO. Hybrid: 1 day/week remote, 4 days in-office (Mon-Thu). Must be Colorado resident or relocate within a month.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Board of Regents
- Coordinates travel arrangements and manages expense reports for nine Regents.
- Executes reservations (flights, hotels, cars), develops itineraries.
- Liaison and advisor for travel policy.
Expense Reimbursement Support:
- Guides staff on Concur system, training, process improvements.
- Resolves complex issues.
Budget and Finance Business Operations
Fiscal and Operational Support:
- Oversees purchasing, accounting; resolves issues with PSC.
- Handles month-end closes, journal entries.
- Expert on policies.
Procurement Support:
- Processes requisitions to payments.
- SME for procurement, manages POs, procurement card.
Building Operations Coordination:
- Oversight of building management, Fire Warden, surplus program.
What We Offer:
Salary: $83,000 - $85,000.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's in related field or equivalent.
- 4+ years experience in business operations, procurement, etc.
- Experience as liaison.
- Strong communication.
- Proficiency with financial systems.
Preferred:
- Higher ed/gov experience.
- Familiarity with CU systems (PeopleSoft, Concur, Cognos).
- Executive/board support.
- Advanced policy knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: CU structure knowledge, systems, best practices, customer service, independence, MS Office (advanced Excel), etc.
