Help Students Succeed by Reducing Placement Barriers

Who you are

You encompass values of fairness, equity and empathy towards the unique challenges faced by students from diverse backgrounds. Your strong problem-solving skills, paired with your ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism will ensure that you thrive in leading the CPP team towards work that directly supports students in pursuing their studies with fewer financial barriers - making a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

What you'll do

As the Senior Coordinator (Commonwealth Prac Payments), you will be responsible for the delivery of the Department's Commonwealth Prac Payments (CPP) program and administer the entire CPP lifecycle—from receiving and assessing applications, to determining eligibility, issuing outcomes and facilitating payments. The CPP program distributes financial support to eligible Education, Nursing, Social Work and Midwifery students unable to work due to attendance of mandatory placements.

In the first 6-12 months in the role, you will coordinate and support CPP staff, collate data to meet Departmental reporting requirements and facilitate the distribution of funding to eligible students. You will also work closely with the Scholarships team to enable progression through higher education, making a difference to the lives of a large number of students.

What will help you succeed

To thrive in this role, you will require a degree with at least four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education/training and:

  • Strong knowledge of equity and diversity issues in Australian higher education and equal opportunity principles
  • Extensive experience with large enterprise systems and generating complex reports
  • Highlevel customer service and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines

Supervisory experience in high-volume environments is highly regarded.
