Position Description
Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.
Major/Essential Functions
- Assist in the development and evaluation of faculty & physician compensation strategies and models which align with financial and organizational objectives.
- Develop educational tools to assist in the communication of compensation principles and processes, as well as policies and procedures for staff and operations.
- Coordinates the implementation of physician compensation plans.
- Works in conjunction with executive management, legal counsel and human resources to develop new agreements and make vital revisions to existing agreements.
- Maintains the database of all existing agreements and is responsible for managing communication of all changes with financial and/or budgetary impact.
- Performs financial modeling, conducts internal valuations and assessments and/or acquires external valuations for each agreement to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Works closely with physician recruitment and leadership to assure compensation programs are market competitive. Ensures that programs are modified as needed to meet competitive market criteria and/or changes in business strategy.
- Coordinates audits of salary changes within each specialty to ensure conformance with established guidelines and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus six years of progressively responsible management experience OR a combination of education and/or years of experience in management to equal a minimum of 10 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current experience working in the Texas Tech Physician Group in Lubbock.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Academic medical system finance experience, including analyzing, preparing, and reviewing financial processes/ad-hoc reports.
- Experience completing and managing provider employment agreements and contracts.
- Knowledge of TTUHSC Banner finance and Cognos reporting system.
