Senior Director of Development, The Media School

The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as the Senior Director of Development for The Media School. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of the nation's leading media and journalism programs while advancing the mission of public media through transformational philanthropy.
This leader will partner closely with the Dean of The Media School and advancement leadership to build and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy supporting students, faculty excellence, storytelling innovation, experiential learning, and public media impact. The role reports to the Associate Vice President of Development with a dual reporting relationship to the Dean of The Media School.
Following the merger of The Media School and Indiana Public Media, the organization is building toward an ambitious philanthropic vision with fundraising goals exceeding $6 million annually across the combined unit. As Senior Director of Development, you will partner closely with the Dean, advancement leadership, faculty, alumni, and donors to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on major and principal gifts, alumni engagement, corporate and foundation partnerships, and donor stewardship.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- At least 7 years of fundraising or related experience in a complex organization
- Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising
- Experience working in collaborative, matrixed environments
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong strategic planning and relationship management capabilities
This is a mobile role based in Bloomington, Indiana. The salary range is $120,000-$125,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Applications are welcome through June 7th, 2026.
