- Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Data Centres to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.
The Senior Engineer, Data Centres position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of all plant and engineering equipment (electrical and mechanical) as assigned, within the various QUT data centres, to ensure continuous availability, and delivery of required technology services. The role is positioned within the Network and Infrastructure Delivery team and will work closely with the cloud and platform engineering teams, in addition to eResearch and the various portfolio and project groups to facilitate any data centre activities, including new equipment, capabilities, additional capacity or changes to existing equipment. This role will also play a key part in the vendor management of data centre operations and will be the day-to-day contact for data centre logistics and activities. This position reports to the Principal Consultant, Engagement and Service Delivery for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology and extensive relevant experience managing critical, high availability data centres.
- Proven technical knowledge and experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems such as HVAC, power distribution, generators, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
- Proficient in equipment installation, configuration, and maintenance as well as demonstrated knowledge of cabling standards and cable management best
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring and power distribution systems.
- Demonstrated experience with Dell/HPE server/storage technologies and firmware
- Demonstrated ability to undertake advanced troubleshooting to identify, diagnose, and resolve problems or to propose solutions to complex problems while exercising professional judgement to achieve excellence in client service.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and time management skills, including conflict management and negotiation skills, and a proven approach in building successful collaborative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders that support achievement of outcomes in a high-level interdependency working environment.
