Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: The budgeted salary range that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position is $26.00 - $27.19 per hour
Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the university.
We are seeking a Temporary Senior Financial Aid Advisor to work remotely on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis.
Summary
Provides personalized financial aid counseling to students on all aspects of financial aid programs from all federal, state, university, and private loan and scholarships sources. Analyzes and verifies eligibility and awards the financial aid for all financial aid programs. Monitors student eligibility and processes all aid award adjustments for enrollment changes, including tuition adjustments, leave of absence, and withdrawal. Interacts with outside agencies (such as federal student aid, private lenders, loan servicers, and external scholarship providers) to facilitate compliant student advisement, eligibility and awarding. Processes disbursement transmittal and student notifications for federal and private loans, as well as institutional scholarships. Conducts financial literacy and default prevention activities. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory requirements and processes in relation to job tasks, assists in ensuring departmental compliance with federal and state regulations and university policies, and communicates them effectively to students and staff. Completes daily data import processing, routine financial aid reporting, and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, communication, or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum four years' experience in student financial aid, higher ed administration, lending/finance, or related field that requires the interpretation and application of regulations and policies. Experience with federal student loan administration, scholarship administration, and borrower counseling is strongly preferred.
