Senior Instructor in Law

The Faculty of Law (FLL) invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor in the area of Macao Law.

The Faculty of Law of University of Macau is the oldest law school in Macao and plays a very important role in preparing jurists who are familiar with Macao S.A.R. legal system, as well as, educating jurists who are competent in legal research and practices in Macau law, international law and comparative law. The Faculty of Law presently offers undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees to both local and international students. More details about the Faculty are available at https://fll.um.edu.mo/.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Law (PhD degree is preferable). Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in higher education institutions and publication related to Macao Law in standardized academic journals. Applicants must be bilingual and able to teach and do research in Chinese/Portuguese or English/Portuguese.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP611,940 (approx. USD75,550) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
