Join a dynamic clinical teaching team at James Cook University and help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Veterinary Anaesthetist to deliver high-quality clinical services and outstanding teaching within our Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
In this role, you’ll provide expert anaesthesia and analgesia across a wide range of species, lead clinical training programs, mentor students and early-career clinicians, and contribute to innovation in veterinary anaesthesia practice. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage in clinical research and advance best-practice models in animal care, safety and welfare.
What you’ll bring:
- A degree in Veterinary Science eligible for professional registration in Queensland
- Formal training in veterinary anaesthesia (e.g. ANZCVS membership, fellowship or equivalent)
- Demonstrated expertise in anaesthesia and pain management across multiple species
- Commitment to teaching excellence, student development, and collaborative clinical practice
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to contribute to research and continuous improvement
- Special conditions apply: veterinary registration, Q fever immunity, and Radiation Use Licence requirements.
