Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health
Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 533017), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a PhD or EdD in health research, healthcare administration and management, international studies, or an MD, or an MBBS with specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent, and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant teaching experience. They should be highly conversant in contemporary issues in global health and development, competent in case-based and problem-based teaching pedagogy, and able to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. High proficiency in English, enthusiasm for teaching, and good mentoring skills are essential. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate level(s). A portfolio of teaching programmes planning and development, curriculum design and delivery, student supervision and placement administration, supervision of teaching practice, or quality assurance is highly preferred.
The appointee is expected to contribute to the overall teaching effectiveness in a wide spectrum of medical, public health and global health/development courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to teaching for MBBS, BASc (GHD) and MPH programmes, the appointee will contribute to programme administration and curriculum development, student advising and placement management, quality assurance and accreditation, teaching grant submission and administration, and development of academic partnerships, etc. In addition, the appointee is expected to support the School’s commissioned projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
