This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.

You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.

Your opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology to deliver high-quality, innovative and learner centred undergraduate education aligned with professional standards and the philosophy and aims of the Bachelor of Speech Pathology. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to provide course-level leadership, teach across the program, and guide curriculum renewal in preparation for future accreditation.

This program includes a distinctive Indigenous Health major in Speech Pathology, offering a nationally unique opportunity to contribute to culturally responsive education and graduate outcomes.

Working within a small and collegial team, you will play a key role in mentoring early career academics, leading curriculum development, and bring the team along a shared journey of improvement and innovation. This role is well suited to an established Level C academic, or a high-performing Level B ready to step into a Senior Lecturer role.

You will make an impact by:

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging teaching across theoretical and clinical speech pathology units
  • Providing course coordination and curriculum leadership, including contributing to program redesign and external accreditation processes
  • Leading and supporting innovative, inclusive, and technology-enhanced learning and teaching practices
  • Mentoring and supporting early career academics within a small, developing team
  • Contributing to research and / or the scholarship of teaching and learning aligned with Faculty priorities

What you will bring

You’re a collaborative and thoughtful academic leader who values collegiality, mentorship and shared decision-making. You bring strong teaching expertise, a commitment to inclusive education, and the confidence to lead curriculum change while supporting your team through transition.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • A PhD (completed or near completion) and registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching clinical and theoretical Speech Pathology across blended and online environments
  • Proven experience in curriculum design, course coordination and preparation for accreditation
  • An established research and / or teaching scholarship profile appropriate to Level C
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • While not essential, we’d love it if you had experience in linguistics, voice and / or fluency; leadership of teaching-focused innovation; and supervision of Honours or HDR students
