About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Lecturer to play a significant role in enhancing the capacity of the Mechanical Engineering discipline in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. In your new role, you will be part of a vibrant institution and a dynamic team with a passion for teaching, research, and community engagement. The important work you do will contribute to an outstanding reputation for teaching and research in the School

The successful candidate will be a dedicated educator with extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of engaging inclusive curriculum, and will undertake research in the fields of Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer. The role will involve the coordination and teaching delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate units at the Bentley campus over multiple study periods. The successful candidate will engage with colleagues, research collaborators and industry partners to develop funding proposals for high-quality research and to supervise HDR students.

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, combined with extensive research and teaching experience in Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer.

Please note you will require work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role to be considered, and if you are not already living locally, you must be willing to relocate to Perth, Western Australia for the duration of the position. Relocation support may be considered for the right candidate.

Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:

  1. PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  2. Experience teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate coursework in Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer for more than 3 years, including unit coordination, curriculum design, development and delivery of lectures, laboratory practicals, tutorials, supervision and mentoring of high-quality under-graduate and post-graduate students
  3. Significant record of high-quality research in Mechanical Engineering, with a track record of publications in leading journals in the fields of Fluid Mechanics or Heat Transfer.
  4. Capacity to establish and lead collaborative partnerships across disciplines, institutions, industry, and government and recognised standing through scholarly service
  5. High-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
