Senior Manager, Alumni and Advancement Operations
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Alumni and Advancement Operations is a strategic leader supporting Flinders University’s alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. This role oversees gift processing, prospect research, and moves management, providing insights and systems for effective fundraising. It works closely with Business Intelligence to drive data-led strategy and reporting, identifying opportunities and measuring impact. It also supports alumni engagement through analytics and operational leadership, evaluating programs across 135,000+ alumni.
Key responsibilities fall under five pillars: Leadership and Strategy, Governance and Relationships, Systems, Donation Management, and Reporting, Training, Analytics, and Support, and Team Leadership.
Fundamental relationships include the Director, Alumni & Advancement, Prospect Researcher, Gift Administration Coordinator, Advancement staff, Colleges, Finance, Legal, ICT, Marketing and Communications, and externally, Donors, alumni, and sector networks.

About You
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, system development, and maintenance, preferably in large not-for-profit or higher education settings. You are an authentic leader with high-level oral communication and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain effective relationships.
You will also demonstrate familiarity with gift governance, experience in presenting complex information, networking proficiency, and the ability to meet competing deadlines in a complex environment.
About the Office of Alumni and Advancement
The Alumni and Advancement team engages graduates through programs, benefits, services, and communications. The Advancement team develops fundraising activities with community support, while the Alumni team facilitates reunions, professional development, mentoring, and presenting opportunities.
