Ventures Community Partnerships Coordinator

Join UQ Ventures as our Ventures Community Partnerships Coordinator and play a pivotal role in connecting visionary entrepreneurs with the resources, networks, and support they need to thrive. You’ll be the bridge between UQ’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and Queensland’s vibrant startup community, helping to shape the future of industry-led innovation.
- Build and grow networks and partnerships across the Queensland entrepreneurial ecosystem ─ including UQ internal stakeholders, alumni, corporates and governments ─ that increase broader and external engagement in Ventures activities.
- Source mentors and speakers for Ventures programs, in collaboration with Ventures Managers and program leads.
- Drive development activity for Ventures, including identification of strategically aligned opportunities to partner on program and service delivery, and support the expansion of Ventures offerings through access to additional funding, expertise and resources. This includes coordination and preparation of proposals, and grant and tender submissions, and relevant reporting.
- Manage the design and delivery of a suite of Ventures events that engage UQ’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and partners, such as ilab Pitch Night, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Awards, Startup Mixers, Investor and Founder networking and training events. Assistance may be required to support the team with additional events.
- Coordinate systems and processes that support client relationship management, event management, and project management, to assist delivery of Ventures program and event outcomes and an excellent partner experience.
- Manage reporting and data metrics to gauge successful delivery of outcomes and impact of Ventures programs and events, in line with UQ policies (e.g., privacy).
- Assist with the ongoing development and promotion of a connected UQ Entrepreneurship pathway across and beyond the university, including assistance with preparing communications, marketing collateral and other Ventures updates.
- Support ongoing development and implementation of UQ’s Entrepreneurship Strategy through knowledge gathering and engagement with the ecosystem, including supporting relevant working groups.

About You
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area and/or extensive relevant industry experience and educational training.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering partnership strategy, including client management ─ developing networks, building relationships, managing systems and processes (including CRM systems) ─ and an ability to navigate the state and national entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems.
- Significant experience in business development including identification and scoping of opportunities, undertaking briefing meetings, preparation of proposals, funding applications and business cases, and the management of relevant systems and processes.
- Skills and experience in project management to support effective coordination of activities and resources, and timely delivery of critical outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and prepare complex documentation including commercial proposals for industry, and to communicate with diverse groups across and beyond the University.
- Demonstrated high level skills in preparing communications materials for global higher education institutions or similar, industry and government, and public facing messaging.
- Ability to work autonomously and productively, to collaborate proactively across disciplines and sectors, and to interact constructively and inclusively in a high performing, diverse and learning team environment.
Bonus points if you have:
- Event planning experience
- Workshop facilitation skills
- Familiarity with Queensland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and national innovation strategies
- Experience in a tertiary education setting
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
