About the Role

The Senior Manager, Educational Technologies provides professional leadership and oversight of Swinburne’s educational technology systems and platforms, ensuring they align with the University’s strategic priorities. This role leads the adoption, integration, and optimisation of both new and existing technologies, platforms, and digital assets to support high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.

The position is responsible for delivering strategic advice and guidance on current and emerging educational technologies across their full lifecycle, including conception, development, implementation, and review. Working in close partnership with the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Innovation, the Senior Manager leads the ongoing development and management of the University’s digital learning environment to enhance teaching quality and improve the learner experience.

The role also oversees the leadership and performance of the Educational Technologies team, driving initiatives that support course enhancement and enrich the overall educational experience in alignment with Higher Education and VET priorities. The Senior Manager collaborates with senior leaders and stakeholders across the University to ensure the digital learning environment supports effective engagement and meets the diverse needs of learners.

As a senior specialist, this role provides strategic leadership, expert advice, and operational delivery in the educational technologies domain, while accountability for institutional policy, strategy, and enterprise transformation remains with the relevant executive portfolio.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Demonstrated experience with effectively leading complex education-based projects and programs with significant change impact in organisational operational excellence
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, technology enhanced learning and teaching in tertiary education (higher education and/or pathways and vocational education).
  • Demonstrated technical experience and expertise in planning and managing an educational technology tech stack
  • Ability to liaise with staff across the University and externally to support the embedding of technology in learning and teaching.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in educational technologies or related fields
