About This Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Financial Performance Insights plays a key role within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), focusing on executive reporting and enabling the effective use of financial frameworks across the University. The role supports senior decision-making by translating complex financial models, assumptions and outputs into clear, practical insights and tools for executives and finance stakeholders.
This position will lead the implementation and embedding phase of the University’s new budget model, ensuring it is consistently understood, applied and communicated across the Finance community. Acting as a critical bridge between FP&A technical specialists, Finance Client Partnering teams and senior executives, the role shapes executive narratives and decision-ready insights that influence how financial performance is interpreted and acted upon across the institution.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing enablement of the University’s budget model, developing guidance, tools and training resources to support consistent application across the Finance community
- Prepare executive-level reporting, briefing materials and presentation packs that translate complex financial data into clear, decision-ready insights
- Partner with FP&A specialists and Finance Client Partnering teams to translate financial models, frameworks and reporting outputs into practical tools and guidance for stakeholders
- Lead complex strategic discussions and negotiations with senior executives, providing financial insight and ensure reporting and narratives support informed decision-making
About You
You are an experienced finance professional with strong executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear insights that support senior decision-making. You thrive in collaborative environments and are confident engaging with senior stakeholders across large and complex organisations.
You will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience preparing executive-level reporting, briefings and financial performance insights within a large and complex organisation
- Advanced ability to translate complex financial models, frameworks or data into clear, concise insights and narratives for senior and non-finance audiences
- Proven experience presenting financial insights and recommendations to senior executives and leadership forums
- Strong collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to work across finance teams to deliver coordinated, organisation-wide financial outcomes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence through clarity, structure and sound professional judgement
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, exercising high levels of judgement, discretion and organisational awareness
- Experience supporting major financial frameworks, reporting transformations or large organisational change initiatives
- Postgraduate qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of professional qualifications and experience
