We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Research Partnerships to lead stakeholder engagement and partnership development across the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Science (HASS). In this pivotal role, you will drive the Faculty’s research engagement strategy, building and sustaining high-value relationships with partners across industry, community, government, not-for-profit, and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sectors.
Your focus will be to identify, cultivate and grow strategic partnerships that lead to impactful research collaborations, including contract research, consultancy and leveraged competitive research schemes. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Research), you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the Faculty’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement a Faculty Research Partnership Development Strategy aligned to strategic priorities, that generates sustainable research income.
- Execute a targeted engagement plan that builds genuine HASS-aligned partnerships, enhances reputation, and increases research income, consultancy revenue, industry-facing funding.
- Provide strategic advice to the Faculty Executive to strengthen engagement between academic staff and external partners, identifying effective pathways for collaboration and growth.
- Collaborate across the University, including the Office of Strategic Partnerships, Research Office and UniQuest, leveraging shared systems, pipelines and communities of practice to ensure coordinated, cohesive partner engagement.
- Lead proactive research development activities, including stakeholder meetings, workshops and cross-portfolio initiatives (industry, government, alumni), while supporting reporting requirements and upholding University values and standards.

About You
- Postgraduate qualifications in humanities, business, or social science or a relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive partnership development experience (preferably in the public sector, or tertiary education and research sectors) and proven management expertise.
- Demonstrated skills in bringing together research capability and partnership opportunity at a senior level, preferably within a large, complex institution.
- Project management experience.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use innovative thinking, integrity, and good judgement when finding solutions to problems under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- High level interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with researchers and professional staff across the University as well as with key external partners.
- Ability to effectively maintain business records and documentation.
