Position Summary

The Dallas College Senior Pathway Coordinator is a student success-centered leadership role responsible for providing comprehensive academic pathway programming and resources to current and prospective Dallas College to School-aligned credit and non-credit students. The Senior Pathway Coordinator is a collaborative leader responsible for managing academic pathway relationships with multiple internal and external partners to facilitate the student pathway journey from start to finish, leading efforts to improve student pathway entrance, retention, persistence, and completion within a designated Dallas College School. This role works collaboratively with Deans and Department Chairs in their assigned School, Student Success Professional Development team members and Associate Deans of Success Coaching to clarify academic pathways, develop and deliver pathways professional development Student Success personnel and coordinate academic advising support for programs in their assigned School.

The Senior Pathway Coordinator works closely with the Senior Director of Retention & Completion and fellow Senior Pathway Coordinators in other Schools to align pathway initiatives with institutional goals and priorities. The role includes supervision of School-assigned Pathway Entrance and Retention Specialists and Pathway Retention Specialists, monitoring student progress, and facilitating continuous improvement within the pathway team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the relational impact of academic advising, degree audit, Guided Pathways, career development, and transfer.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of program evaluation and student outcome assessment.
  • Knowledge of the full scope, purpose and navigation of post-secondary educational opportunities in assigned School and how these pathways lead to economic opportunity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, tracking and monitoring employee performance in a remote work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in team building, rewarding team behavior that produces desired outcomes, and effectively addressing team behavior that conflicts with the mission, values and goals of the division and College.
  • Demonstrate detail-oriented precision in reviewing and mapping student academic, career, and transfer milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of the pathways student success team, including academic advising coordination and intervention planning.
  • Supervises and supports assigned Pathway Entrance & Retention Specialist(s) and/or Pathway Retention Specialist(s).
  • Collaborates with Department Chairs and Success Coaching leadership to identify, track, and support students at risk of attrition.
  • Monitors pathways entry, retention and completion metrics for programs of study in assigned Schools and contribute to the development of improvement strategies.
  • Participates in program advisory board and School review meetings to provide voice to the student pathway navigation experience and to use the knowledge gained to develop ongoing pathways training for Student Success personnel.
  • Works with Student Success Professional Development team members to develop and deliver pathways training.
  • Collaborates regularly with Success Coaching Associate Deans to coordinate delivery of pathway-specific academic advising in a manner that creates a seamless student connection between the continuous and holistic support of the Student Success Coach and the pathway-specific expertise of the pathways team.
  • Works with Marketing, academic leadership and Degree Audit to develop academic maps and other student pathway navigation support materials.
  • Collaborates regularly with Degree Audit, Career Services and Transfer Services leaders to support timely credential completion and to strengthen student connections to post-completion success support.
  • Works with recruiting leadership to coordinate pathways training and School-specific outreach.
  • Uses institutional and departmental data to identify, develop relevant and timely interventions and pathway-specific programming.
  • Facilitates pathway team meetings and ensure coordination among stakeholders.
  • Supports onboarding, orientation, and transition activities specific to pathway programs.
  • Assist with developing, monitoring, and approving department budgets and expenditures.
  • Completes required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Student Affairs or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in academic advising or student success in higher education.
  • Experience coordinating student success programs and collaborating with faculty and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related discipline.
  • Supervisory experience and familiarity with guided pathways frameworks.
  • Experience working with adult, first-generation in college and/or economically disadvantaged students.
