Offer Description
I. This job advertisement is issued for the scientific position of senior research associate, in the scientific area of social sciences – field of economics, 1 employee. The contract will be signed for permanent employment.
Requirements: Candidates must meet the requirements for appointment to the scientific position of senior research associate as prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette 119/22, hereinafter: the Act), the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (Official Gazette 42/2026, hereinafter: National Criteria), and the Ordinance on Additional Criteria for Appointment to Scientific, Associate, and Expert Positions of the Institute of Economics, Zagreb of November 28, 2023 (EIZ’s Ordinance).
II. Appointment to the scientific position is conducted in accordance with Articles 39 through 41 of the Act and with EIZ’s Ordinance on Hiring Procedure from December 2023.
The candidates must enclose:
- their application,
- curriculum vitae,
- copy of documents proving academic degree (candidates who have earned their academic degree outside Croatia must enclose a document issued by the relevant authority of the Republic of Croatia regarding the evaluation of the foreign higher education qualification, or proof that an application for such a document has been submitted),
- copy of documents proving scientific rank (if the candidate has been appointed to a scientific rank),
- copy of the report of the expert committee on the candidate’s last appointment to a scientific rank or scientific position (with included categorization table (a1, a2, and a3) and ranking of published scientific articles in accordance with the Ordinance), if the candidate has been appointed to a scientific rank or scientific position,
- copy of the decision on the candidate’s last appointment to a scientific position,
- printout of the list of papers from the CROSBI-CroRIS base,
- certificate of indexation and citation of papers, issued by the authorized library,
- list of published scientific articles (candidates who have not been appointed to a scientific rank or scientific position also enclose published scientific articles relevant for appointment to a scientific rank / scientific position according to the Ordinance),
- list of research projects the candidate has participated in,
- written account demonstrating the fulfillment of the criteria from EIZ’s Ordinance (in free form),
- certificate of no ongoing criminal proceedings (issued no more than three months ago).

III. Candidates who are, according to special regulations, entitled to an advantage when applying for employment, are invited to invoke their right in the application and submit evidence with the application for the purpose of exercising their right of priority in employment and job placement, in accordance with the regulation granting them that right.

IV. The selected candidate must present the originals or certified copies of the evidence required before the employment contract is signed. If the evidence is in a foreign language, the selected candidate must also present a certified translation into Croatian.

VI. A selection procedure will be organized for the candidates. Information about the job description and salary will be published on EIZ’s website https://www.eizg.hr/. The selection results will also be announced on EIZ’s website, within 8 days of the successful candidate being selected.
VII. IX. Submitting an application for the job, the consideration and/or acceptance of an application, or candidate selection do not necessarily lead to a candidate’s employment. Employment is only possible when and if EIZ and the candidate sign an employment contract. Job description of the scientific position
The senior research associate conducts scientific research in accordance with the Institute’s scientific research program, publishes results of scientific and development research, participates in scientific training, works on the improvement of scientific activities and the professional development of research assistants and senior research assistants, conducts other tasks related to the Institute’s scientific activity, and conducts other tasks assigned by the head of the scientific department and director of the Institute.
Information on the salary:
- the basic salary is calculated by multiplying the base amount with the job complexity coefficient,
- the base amount for salary calculation in public services from August 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026, is a gross amount of EUR 1,025.00, in accordance with the Decision on the Base Amount for Salary Calculation in Public Services in 2026 (Official Gazette 11/2026-86),
- in accordance with the Regulation on Job Titles, Categorization Requirements, and Coefficients for Salary Calculation in Public Services, for the position of senior research associate, the job complexity coefficient is 3.35, which amounts to a gross salary of EUR 3,433.75, with transportation costs to and from work paid in addition to this amount.
