Senior Teaching Fellow/Teaching Fellow/Instructor I/II in the Department of Accountancy [Ref. R/041/26]
Duties
- Teach accounting and related subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Act as subject leader within the individual’s area of specialism, providing leadership in learning and teaching;
- Serve as course coordinator and contribute to the planning and development of courses and study programmes for the Department and other units for which the Department offers servicing courses;
- Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, as well as learning support and professional activities to enhance student educational experience;
- Engage in professional outreach, networking, and engagement activities to advance the academic and professional reputation of the Department; and
- Share administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.
Requirements
A relevant postgraduate degree in related disciplines, with teaching or professional qualification in the accounting field. Work experience is preferred. Ideal candidates should possess teaching experience at university level and be familiar with the university environment.
Candidates for Senior Teaching Fellow should have substantial professional experience, expertise and recognisable achievements in non-academic settings (prerequisite requirement); and a distinguished record of teaching and administration, contribution to instructional development, with demonstrated experience and accomplishment in curriculum planning and student supervision.
Candidates for Teaching Fellow should have good professional experience and expertise in non-academic settings, with experience in teaching and administration.
Candidates for Instructor I should have 4 years’ appropriate postgraduate full-time teaching experience. Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Instructor II.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
