About the area

This position is located within the Linking for Life research team within the School of Population and Global Health. The role supports two major research programs:

  • Linking for Life (ARC Linkage Project) (L4L)
  • Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas (ACYWA)

Linking for Life (L4L) is a long‑standing data linkage research program that brings together health, justice, and social data to examine life‑course outcomes and inform policy‑relevant research. In addition to ethics, governance, and data access coordination, the role provides research administration and project support for the L4L program.

The ACYWA project is a groundbreaking initiative creating a comprehensive data asset that maps the health and wellbeing metrics of children and young people aged 0 to 24 across Australian communities. By visualising and analysing this data, the project provides valuable insights to inform policy and planning and improve outcomes for children young people nationwide.

  • Demonstrated experience preparing and managing Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) applications, amendments, and related governance documentation.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work autonomously.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret and apply ethics, governance, and data management requirements to address complex and novel situations.

Note: Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations. A current National Police Clearance will be required by the successful applicant.
