This role sits within the Shared Services team and requires a flexible client focused approach, with a strong commitment to excellence. As our team continues to grow, we are seeking a mature technician with a passion for providing exceptional customer service to all Shared Laboratory users.
Te mahi | The role
Empower staff to succeed in a hands-on, tech-driven lab environment while building your IT and problem-solving skills within a dynamic, collaborative environment.
We are seeking a mature and dependable technician with experience in a teaching and/or research laboratory environment. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong client-focused approach, with the ability to prioritise workloads, communicate effectively with a diverse range of users and respond flexibly to changing demands.
The role also involves training new users, developing training materials and conducting demonstrations on services as required, including AV equipment, laboratory equipment and other specialist tools.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team to deliver high-quality laboratory support services. You will develop your technical, IT, and problem-solving skills, gain experience in training and service delivery, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of laboratory systems. Kā Pūkeka Me Kā Wheako | Your skills and experience
• Tertiary level qualification in a field, including extensive laboratory experience.
• Proven experience working within a teaching laboratory environment.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours a week) position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
The salary range for this role is $73,583 to $79,682. Top of the range is $84,253 per annum.
