The College of Nursing is seeking a dedicated Simulation Education Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that faculty, staff, and students have access to the technology and on-campus clinical environment necessary to support safe learning, advance the College of Nursing’s mission, and uphold accreditation standards. This position is located in Rapid City, South Dakota. This position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

The college’s fully accredited Healthcare Simulation Center (HCSC) across all 3 sites is further evidence of our commitment to high quality education for all students. The HCSC revolutionizes the way students learn everything from simple skills and tasks to strategies for managing complex healthcare scenarios. The HCSC is equipped with the latest in human patient simulators and distance simulation technology.

Key Responsibilities
The Simulation Education Specialist supports undergraduate and graduate simulation labs and on-campus clinical experiences by coordinating schedules, managing equipment and supplies, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the simulation center. The role includes operating and maintaining high-fidelity manikins and distance learning technologies, preparing labs for student learning and recruitment events, and upholding safety and compliance standards. The Specialist also collaborates with faculty and staff to enhance simulation-based education and contributes to College of Nursing committees.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Nursing completed by date of application.
- Licensed RN (or eligible to be licensed) in South Dakota within 1 month of hire.
- At least 3 years of healthcare-related field experience.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated use of technology; and/or previous technology-based healthcare experience.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in technology for distance simulation: immersive VR, screen-based, telehealth, & augmented reality.
- Previous simulation manikin experience such as turning on manikins, technology related items, and problem-solving techniques.
- Previous experience with organizing and managing supplies within space and on spreadsheet type applications.
- Nursing or healthcare experience and technology and/or simulation experience.

Work Hours: Hours will vary based on simulation/lab needs. Hours will fluctuate between 7am-7pm, but a majority of the hours will take place between 8am-5pm.
