SMART Project Coordinator
Schedule: Part-Time (12-14 hours per week)
Timeline: 8 Months (with possible extension)
Location: New York, NY
The SMART (Silver Mental Health & Support Resource Network) App and website are launched October 2025 to connect social work students, alumni, and licensed professionals in a virtual support and referral network. The Coordinator will play a critical role in marketing, engagement, and ongoing operations to ensure a successful launch and sustained member involvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing, Content Creation, and Engagement
- Collaborate with NYU Silver departments (Communications, Alumni Relations, Practicum Education) to build awareness and promote the SMART App across internal and external platforms.
- Create compelling marketing and outreach content and graphics for email, social media, and the website, aligned with the goals of mental health support and professional community-building.
- Design and send biweekly email campaigns (every other Monday) to current and prospective members, using platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Generate interest through engaging social media content, member stories, and spotlights, in collaboration with NYU’s communications team.
2. Community Growth and Member Support
- Develop and lead a three-year plan to grow NYU SMART through outreach campaigns, digital promotion, and targeted follow-ups.
- Introduce new members via email or internal post, ensuring, timely onboarding and engagement.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries from the SMART App inbox and website to maintain user satisfaction and a welcoming experience.
- Review and moderate member-generated emails and other content
3. Project Coordination and Quality Assurance
- Verify credentials and licensure of new clinical members to ensure accurate directory entries and compliance with the SMART Code of Conduct.
- Coordinate with the website developer to monitor functionality and implement updates.
- Track outreach metrics and support data-informed planning for member growth and engagement.
- Draft monthly reports for the Dean highlighting SMART’s progress, activities, and goals.

- Running tracker of licensure verification and approvals

- Calendar of engagement activities and communications
Required: Bachelor’s degree required, 2–4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in online content creation ideally in wellness, higher ed, or nonprofit spaces as well as digital marketing, and social media management.
- Skilled in email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), content management systems (e.g. Wordpress), social platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn), and design tools (Canva or Adobe Express).
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor tone for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with behavioral health, mental health equity, or social work is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Comfort working across teams and platforms, including coordination with developers and institutional departments
This position is classified under the professional research staff category at NYU and does not qualify for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $30-$40.
