Job Summary

Oberlin College and Conservatory invites applications from individuals with a strong understanding of social media and a keen interest in content writing for the Social Media Content Producer role within the Office of Communications. This is a 12-month, full-time administrative and professional staff appointment with the option for renewal.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy and collaborating closely with the Content Team, the Social Media Content Producer will play an active role in writing, editing, and publishing content across social platforms. You will actively engage in social listening, initiate conversations across platforms, and maintain a cohesive voice for interaction on Oberlin's institutional social media accounts. As an active member of our campus, you will cultivate relationships within social communities, attend events, and share in our campus activities. As part of our social and marketing team, you will exercise discretion when responding to inquiries and stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends.

Required qualifications

• Recent college graduate; preference for May 2026 Oberlin graduate or recent Oberlin graduate
• Demonstrated interest in social media, with a preference for professional experience
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with various Oberlin stakeholders: alumni, parents and families, prospective students, and the campus community
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible in working hours, including evening and weekend responsibilities

Compensation

Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes an excellent benefits package.
