Special Projects Manager – School of Public Health
Position Summary
Works with the Director of Special Projects and the Event Specialist on all internal and external convenings in the Office of the Dean at the School of Public Health. Manages multiple projects and programs from development through implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Manages content for internal events and convenings as well as all SPH committees. Assists Director with additional special projects as needed. Projects will align with the School of Public Health’s mission and strategic direction.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads all internal events.
- Develops project/program goals, objectives and plans in collaboration with Dean’s Office leadership.
- Creates long- and short-term work plans including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Maintains and updates work plans and timelines.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
- Coordinates with Event Specialist on logistics for internal events.
- Provides operational support and oversight of assigned programs/projects and external convenings.
- Coordinates the content of all internal events and supports similar functions for external convenings in collaboration with the Director.
- Develops project/program goals, objectives and plans in collaboration with Dean’s Office leadership.
- Creates long- and short-term work plans including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Provides support to the project team, including developing agendas, materials and summaries.
- Maintains and updates work plans and timelines.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
- Working with the Director Special Projects, partners with major external stakeholders to ensure informational needs are met.
- Coordinates and provides support for SPH committees.
- Coordinates with committee chairs on scheduling of meetings.
- Creates agendas and keeps minutes for committee meetings.
- Monitors record keeping of all committees to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement. Ability to move to on and off-campus locations.
Equipment: Office equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Work Experience: Relevant Experience (3 Years)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in designing and managing projects.
- Ability to support advancement of institutional initiatives with little supervision.
Education: Master's degree

Salary Range: $58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually
